Election, Romania: a dead man elected as the mayor of a city

Neculai Ivaşcu

The ex-mayor of the Romanian city Voineşti, Neculai Ivaşcu, tried to get a new mandate during the second tour of the local election. Unfortunately, he died right in the morning of the day of the election, yesterday, due to an older disease.

The law didn't specify what to be done in this situation, so he remained on the list of the candidates for the mayor of that city.
