The Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences (Nobel Prize in Economics) has the official name as the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences, in the memory of Alfred Nobel.

This year the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences was awarded to Elinor Ostrom "for her analysis of economic governance, especially the commons", and to Oliver E. Williamson "for his analysis of economic governance, especially the boundaries of the firm".

Oliver E. Williamson

Oliver Eaton Williamson was born in September 27, 1932. He is Professor of the Graduate School Edgar F. Kaiser Professor Emeritus of Business, Economics, and Law University of California Berkeley. He focused on the costs of transactions, distinguishing between repeated case-by-case bargaining on the one hand and relationship-specific contracts on the other.
