The Republic of Indonesia (Indonesian: Republik Indonesia), is a transcontinental country in Southeast Asia and Oceania. Indonesia comprises 17,508 islands, and with an estimated population of around 237 million people, it is the world's fourth most populous country.

Indonesia's size, tropical climate, and archipelagic geography, support the world's second highest level of biodiversity, and its flora and fauna is a mixture of Asian and Australasian species.

Indonesia has around 300 ethnic groups, each with cultural differences developed over centuries, and influenced by Indian, Arabic, Chinese, Malay, and European sources. (Wikipedia)
